What is MUN

Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. These models are famous worldwide and have already taken place in more than 20 countries all around the globe.

In the Model UN, students become foreign diplomats and participate in simulated sessions of the United Nations organs such as the General Assembly, the Security Council, the International Court of Justice and more. In order to develop an open minded point of view, each participant is assigned to represent a country different from his country of origin. The participants research the assigned countries, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems in the form of formal Resolutions.

During the conference, the participants employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to represent the policies of their country in the best possible manner.
